Brief History
- Born in New Westminster, B.C., 1975
- From the beginning, had a strong passion for drawing, painting, and music.
- Was always either doing arts and crafts or plunking away on any near by musical instrument.
- Started playing guitar in Grade 7.
- Grew up with a musical family. Both parents were working musicians. Mom sang and Dad was a keyboardist. Uncle Ray, Dad's brother was a prolific trombonist and Jazz Composer who was the founder of the Arokis Centre of Music Society which is still going strong and performing at different venues today.
- Excelled at Art all through elementary and high school with a life-long determination to continue delving deeper into the arts
- In 1995, completed the Computer Graphics and Desktop Publishing Diploma Program at Burnaby College, then completed a practicum and worked at a couple of different print shops.
- In 2001, completed the 3 year Fine Arts Diploma Program at the Victoria College of Art, exploring many techniques with different media, going in the direction of surrealism.
- Started employment in the picture framing industry in Victoria.
- During that time, for a relaxing hobby, got into hemp-weaving for jewelry and made a variety of necklaces and discovered a new addiction to beads.
- In 2002, moved back to the mainland. Once finally established after finding a new job and meeting new life partner, began to continue where she left off in painting, only to discover that that special zone that once was has changed.
- On spare time, began experimenting in the digital world with a variety of creative software involved with photo enhancement, digital photography, electronic music making, and digital video.
- Also began experimenting with mixed media on canvas including photo transfer and acrylic mediums.
- In 2005, decided to enrol at the Digital Video Diploma Program at the Art Institute of Vancouver, then successfully completing it in 2007.
- Even after successfully completing the Digital Film Program, experienced a period of indecisiveness in which direction to go.
- For a short while, settled for any paying job which did not last long.
- In 2008, taking a break from working at a computer, began working among a large staff as a faux finisher in the production of collectible fine art tiles, designed by Sid Dickens.
- During that time, for another creative outlet outside of work, developed a deeper interest in jewelry making, learning how to work with wire, broadening the spectrum of more creative interests.
- After about 7 years of working full time at Sid Dickens, began to become exhausted from the every day commute and decided to part ways in order to spend more time and energy working on own creative projects.
- Currently continuing to explore and grow in the path of creativity to see where it leads to,next...
